We HOP… One Day at a Time
Life on the Colorado Eastern Plains is nothing short of a dream come true. Every day brings a new adventure — and there is always something marvelous to discover.
Meet the Family
The Smiling Children
We are blessed to enjoy many of life's simplest pleasures from the comfort of our own home: sunrises, sunsets, and smiling children. Those smiling children are Bookworm Beauty (10), Sweetness (6), and The Boy (5) — the three youngest members of our crew, each bringing their own spark to our days on the plains.
Our three older children — Princess, Angel, and Sunshine — are now adults. Their journey through homeschooling shaped so much of how we approach learning with the younger ones.
On this corner of the internet, homeschooling isn't about perfection—it's about purpose. Each day brings a fresh start, a new lesson, and the chance to learn alongside the children who fill our home with laughter and curiosity. From morning read-alouds on the couch to afternoon math explorations at the kitchen table, we embrace the messy, beautiful reality of learning together. The curriculum choices we make—whether it's a favorite book series, a virtual math program, or a hands-on building set—are simply tools that serve a greater goal: raising lifelong learners who love discovery as much as we do.
There is a certain sweetness in watching a bookworm lose herself in a story, or seeing a younger child light up after finally grasping a new math concept. These small victories are the heartbeats of our homeschool days. We weave together grammar lessons, drawing breaks, music time, and history studies with plenty of room for flexibility. Some days we complete every planned lesson; other days we set the books aside and follow a spontaneous spark of curiosity. Either way, we count it as progress. Learning happens in the steady, faithful rhythm of showing up day after day.
The decision to homeschool was never about escaping the world—it was about building a better one within our own four walls. On the Colorado plains, we have space to breathe, to think, and to grow together. We share our journey not as a blueprint for others to copy, but as an honest account of one family finding their way. Whether you are just beginning your own homeschooling adventure or looking for encouragement along the path, we hope you find a kindred spirit here. After all, we are all learning as we go—one day at a time.

Where We Live
The Colorado Eastern Plains
Wide-open skies, golden fields, and the kind of quiet that lets you hear your own thoughts. The Eastern Plains have given our family room to breathe and space to grow. Homeschooling here means nature is never far from the lesson plan — a sunrise can become a science discussion, and an afternoon walk can turn into a history lesson about the land itself.
We don't take this setting for granted. It shapes our rhythm, our priorities, and the way we build our children up day by day.
Our Approach
Building Children With Purpose
Homeschooling, for us, is a critical step in child development — not just an educational choice. We believe in being intentional: every book read aloud, every math problem worked through, every conversation around the kitchen table is part of building character, curiosity, and confidence.
We take it one day at a time. Some days are smooth; others are messy. But the goal remains the same — to raise children who love learning and who know they are deeply loved.
